Learn to save lives! Lifeguard training offered. The Hardin County Family YMCA is offering lifeguard certification classes. Learn to become a lifeguard today! Classes begin on Oct. 24th and continue on the 25th, and Nov. 2 through 5. Contact the front desk for more details!

LUNCH & LEARN: Ready, Steady, Balance: Fall Prevention - Join us on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 11:30-12:30pm, to learn more about fall prevention. This Lunch & Learn is sponsored by OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital. Sign up at the front desk by October 25th! There is no cost for YMCA or SilverSneakers members, $5.00 for non-members.

TRUNK OR TREAT Looking for an alternative to Halloween trick or treating?!? - Stop by the YMCA on Thursday, Oct. 27 for a safer alternative to Halloween trick or treating. The YMCA staff, board, and volunteers will be decorating their cars and distributing candy to those who come by. This event is open to the public and runs from 6:30-7:30pm.

MORE SWIM LESSON OPTIONS! NEW SWIM LESSON offerings for the winter months - The Hardin County Family YMCA will be offering the following extras swim lessons beginning in November, 2016 to March, 2017 while we are open on Sundays:

Swim Starters (6 months- 3years old - parent in with child)

Sunday – 2pm – 2:30pm
Cost: $4 per SESSION – member
$8 per SESSION – non-member

Pre-School Age (3 - 5 years old)

Sunday – 2:30pm – 3:00pm
Cost: Sunday cost - $12.50 per MONTH member, $25.00 per MONTH non-member

School Age

Sunday – 3:00pm – 3:30pm
Cost: Sunday cost - $12.50 per MONTH member, $25.00 per MONTH non-member

Sea Dragons

Spooky Splash!!!

The Hardin County Family YMCA Sea Dragons youth swim team is having their annual invitational swim meet on Saturday, October 22nd. The swim meet is an all day event. Here are some important notes:

  • The YMCA gymnasium will close on Friday, Oct. 21 @ 6:00pm and will remain closed throughout the day Saturday.
  • The YMCA pool will be closed all day Saturday due to the swim meet.
  • The rest of the YMCA will be open for normal use!

New Class Program Registration Procedure

To better plan and serve its' members, the Hardin County Family YMCA unveils its new procedure for signing up for classes each month! Sign-ups for future next month's classes need to be done by the last Thursday of each month and have a minimum of 4 signed-up in a class for it to be held. For the full information, please click on the link below. In addition, did you know you can also sign-up for FUTURE month's classes in advance?

Youth Development

YMCA Made to Move!

Three new tumbling/cheerleading activities are available and lead by Kelsie Camper-Snook.


Tumbling is one part of the popular sport of gymnastics and has grown to be a large part of cheerleading and dance today. Not limited to kids in gymnastics or cheerleading, but for all athletes looking to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Classes meet Mondays and Tuesdays.


The Y's Hardin Heat Cheer team is a top level cheer team that competes in competitions all around the region. The season begins yearly in spring, see the Y for details about tryouts.

How Does it Work?

The Think Recycle Program is a community based collection program where the YMCA can collect unwanted cell phones, print cartridges and digital cameras and turn them in for cash rebates. It's simple; just return your unwanted products to the YMCA.
